Bright future
Maintaining the balance between traditional values and innovative design can be a challenge. Moses reflects on some further obstacles that the business has had to negotiate.“ For a while, we struggled to bring in new talent. Homebuilding
didn’ t seem to appeal to young people, and throughout 2023 and 2024, finding the right team members required real effort. The work stopped being as fun as it once was.
“ But in 2025 it started to feel fun again. The rise of AI has been a culture-shifting force. Many workers worry about their jobs being replaced, but AI can’ t swing a hammer. It can’ t envision a space from the inside. It can’ t build something from the ground up with its own two hands.
“ In 2025, we saw many more young men and women showing interest in learning the trades, and I hope that trend continues into 2026. I would love to see the economy stabilize and offer hope to the tradespeople of tomorrow.
“ There’ s a bright future in the trades. We need electricians, plumbers, carpenters- talent across every discipline. MKD Development’ s path forward is as much in their hands as it is in ours- and together, we’ ll build what comes next,” he concludes. ■ modernhb. com 139
