“ I grew up in the UK and Ireland construction world, working on everything from large scale civil projects to pipelines, hotels, and high rises,” James begins.“ I went to school and got an engineering degree, and after that, decided to go backpacking; that’ s how I ended up in Laguna Beach, California, working for a small contractor building oceanfront homes. I soon found that luxury homebuilding in Southern California combines all of the most interesting parts of residential homebuilding with the complexities of high-end commercial projects, and I fell in love with it. Within six months, I was running a couple of job sites, including all of the portfolio work for a major luxury custom home developer. That company then underwent some issues, so, at the age of 25, I decided to strike out on my own.
