Roots in the craft
Parker Piner grew up in a building family in the American Midwest. Construction was not a career he chose so much as a world he was born into.“ I started working alongside my dad when I was around 12 or 13 years old in northern Minnesota,” Parker recalls.“ When the iron ore mining industry declined and the building work dried up, we relocated to northern California and started building houses there. I graduated high school and transitioned down to San Diego, where I went to work for a high-end builder. That experience shaped everything. It showed me what was possible at the top of this industry: the level of detail, the caliber of craft, the standard of client care. In 2002, I broke off on my own and founded West Coast GBC, with that standard in mind from day one.”
