Bluewater Construction was started by my father-in-law over 20 years ago,” begins Mike Marciniak, owner and President.“ After college, I went into multifamily development and started a property management company. He was helping me build multifamily projects, and through that process I became more involved in construction. A few years later, I earned my contractor’ s license, and when he started thinking about stepping away from the business, I realized I didn’ t want to see everything he’ d built disappear.
“ We partnered for six years, and during that time I learned a tremendous amount from him. He was an excellent builder, and those years also gave me the opportunity to identify areas where we could improve. I developed a vision for what I wanted the company to become once I took full ownership.”
One of the biggest changes was building a dedicated team, something the company had never really had before. As such, over the past couple of years, Mike has focused heavily on refining Bluewater’ s processes and creating a strong company culture centered around collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
