Hidden in a lavish pool house in Northern Colorado, a secret staircase descends into a saloonstyle speakeasy. The floor opens from the push of a button to reveal an entire bar, along with pool table and wet bar, tucked beneath the 2100-square-foot pool house that anchors an 8500-squarefoot mountain-modern residence.

It’ s this creative, almost cinematic detail that Nico Campana, owner of Aliversa Builders( Aliversa), incorporates into every project: discovering what makes a client’ s vision unique, then building it without compromise. The third-generation custom home builder specializes in luxury properties, but Nico explains these can be incredibly wide-ranging – from modern lakeside retreats to multi-story townhouses. What remains the same is Aliversa’ s commitment to high-quality construction.
“ Reputation means everything to Aliversa,” declares Nico.“ I started the company about 12 years ago, but I come from a family of builders – my grandfather emigrated from Italy and started it all off. I went to Colorado State University where I studied construction management, before forming Aliversa, with the goal of delivering exceptional craftsmanship and making the building process enjoyable for our clients.” Combining his college education with childhood experiences on construction sites, Nico says he’ s applied everything he’ s learned and brought it to life.

Alongside luxury homes, Aliversa takes on large-scale remodels, commercial projects, and some real estate development. Nico reveals some insight on the current trends he’ s seeing industry-wide.“ The cost of construction per square foot has gone up significantly, so we’ re getting creative with utilizing the space in a home and making the most of those small, overlooked areas – a nook that becomes a bookcase, or a playroom under the stairs.” With the rise of interest in personal wellness, the group has also been building numerous saunas, steam showers, and fitness rooms. However, the biggest trend is indoor-outdoor living, Nico elaborates.“ People want outdoor space that feels like an extension of the indoors,” he says.“ We’ re often bringing stone in from the outside and using huge windows and doors that open the whole space up.”
