Cury Construction inflation is the current counterweight; prices have gone up substantially over the past six years, and some buyers are pausing or reconsidering building a new home. For us, if demand holds and clients are willing to invest in what they want, our work continues.”
Looking ahead, Steve is keen to grow both sides of the business: custom homes and developer work.“ We have several projects being planned for 2027, and they typically take six months to a year to reach shovel-ready, so getting involved early in the design stage is our priority,” Steve explains.“ Furthermore, I’ d like to move beyond building into development in our
own right, so we’ d be the owner as well as the builder. It’ s a long process to get there and something we don’ t want to rush.”
As a second-generation builder, Steve reflects on the biggest lesson he’ s learned; and surprisingly, it’ s less about construction and more about attention.“ Everything is so busy and the market moves so fast,” he says.“ It’ s important to slow down, listen, and focus on what’ s important.” This discipline is apparent in Steve Cury Construction’ s approach, with no two homes alike and each project grounded in quality and care. ■
