The company has remained family-oriented, with Jim’ s oldest daughter, Rylie, working as executive assistant, and his youngest daughter, Kayla, running social media and creative marketing, while Theresa closed her aesthetician business to join the team.“ I have project managers running projects up here in Sedona, and a couple more down in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley, so I go back and forth,” Jim continues.“ I admit
I was a little apprehensive about bringing family into my business, but I can say now that it’ s the best decision I’ ve ever made.”
Jim launched the Legacy Pre-Construction Concierge Program roughly six years ago, born from a problem he saw repeating across the custom home industry; clients typically buy land, then head straight to an architect – a common mistake, Jim describes. Architects, no matter how skilled at design and engineering, aren’ t always attuned to real-world construction costs.“ The result is a bidding process where some builders lowball to win the job, while others quote realistic prices that can run $ 800,000 to $ 1 million higher, leaving homeowners blindsided,” elaborates Jim, with numbers that back up his concerns.“ What is the success rate of an architect getting that home off the ground?
