Founded in 2017 by Drew D’ Angelo, SkySail Coastal Estates( SkySail) has built its reputation by creating distinctive residences throughout Orange County’ s most coveted coastal communities. Rather than pursuing volume, SkySail has remained intentionally selective, treating each residence as an individual development thesis shaped by its site, architecture, eventual owner and long-term place in the market. That approach has resulted in 19 luxury assets throughout Newport Beach, including several record-setting sales.
With more than 26 years of experience spanning development, consulting, entitlement and real estate, Drew has developed an unusual perspective on the creation of a home. He can move between the vision of the homeowner, the language of the architect, the realities of construction, the discipline of a development budget and ultimately the way the finished residence will live and perform in the market.
At the center of that philosophy is a simple idea Drew often returns to: A home is built twice. First, it is built through vision, conversation, and the thousands of decisions that determine what the home should become. Only then is it built physically.
Leading the process
That thinking has become the foundation of SkySail’ s Visions division, the company’ s private-client owner-representation and project-leadership platform.
“ When we started Visions, it really came from people continually asking me,‘ Can I hire you to do this for me?’” Drew explains.“ They wanted someone who could sit on their side of the table, take ownership of the entire process and protect the vision from beginning to end.”
Rather than representing a departure from development, Visions is an extension of it. SkySail can now bring the infrastructure, relationships, judgment, and experience developed through its own residences directly to homeowners and investors.
