“ Materials were selected for longevity- standing-seam metal roofing, cementitious siding, copper flashing, and impact-rated windows and doors- so the home could meet modern performance standards without compromising its historic character.
“ Design decisions were guided by respect for the original layout and spirit of the home. Key elements, like the kitchen location, were intentionally kept in place to preserve its historic flow, even when more contemporary layouts would have been easier.
“ The result is a home that shows its age in the best way, bright and white, but never pretending to be new, where you can still feel the stories of those who walked through its doors nearly a century ago,” he enthuses.
New media channel
As with The Isle of Palms and the Coca-Cola home refurbishment, each CopeGrand Homes project is the result of ongoing collaboration between professional and experienced teams of talented experts. Bringing their perspective to a wider audience, Adam and twin brother Ben will be launching their constructionfocused YouTube channel, This Grand House, in early 2026. As he reveals:“ We’ re planning on releasing our first few videos on the channel very soon. The intent behind This Grand House is simple but meaningful: to build better builders and to better educate clients so projects are healthier, more successful, and more enjoyable for everyone involved.
“ Through sit-down conversations with industry professionals, experts, and leaders who are doing their best work, we explore residential construction with a strong focus on Charleston and coastal building.
“ Topics range from quality standards and innovation to leadership, craftsmanship, and mental health. Our real focus is adding value: creating better processes, stronger teams, and sharing how we develop and maintain outstanding relationships with our clients and trade partners.
“ Alongside long-form conversations, we’ ll share short-form content that highlights best practices, building techniques, and behind-thescenes insights. At its core, This Grand House is about education, collaboration, and elevating both the industry and the client experience.”
