Exciting projects
Modern Age’ s approach to energy efficiency runs through every stage of the build process. Beneath the exterior siding, the team installs rigid board insulation on the outside wall. While it is not a requirement, it is a standard the company has chosen to adopt, which creates an exceptionally tight building envelope. On the inside, additional insulation is installed within the walls to engineer-specified standards. All Modern Age homes are built as hot roof insulation homes, meaning that the attic spaces never
get too cold nor overheated regardless of the season, as the roof rafters themselves are insulated, turning the attic into fully conditioned space. The same principle applies to basements, where exterior walls are insulated to create a space that is usable all year round. This gives homeowners the flexibility to finish those lower levels and add square footage to their home.
One of the most exciting projects currently underway for the company is a 13-home subdivision in a large community named Seacrest Estates in Jamesport, situated on a new dead-end street with views towards Long Island Sound.“ Two of those homes are nearly complete and the project has just gone live, so we are very excited,” Peter enthuses.“ There is a lot of activity going on as the season opens up, and Jamesport is right at the center of that.”
