For more than 125 years, McKelvey Homes has demonstrated that success is earned through continuous innovation, uncompromising quality, and trusted leadership. As the oldest residential homebuilder in the St. Louis region, it has played a defining role in shaping the area’ s skyline, from early commercial and residential developments to pioneering projects that helped establish the city’ s growth.
Today, under the leadership of President and Owner, Jim Brennan, McKelvey Homes continues to build on that legacy with a forward-looking approach that blends craftsmanship with modern design, advanced construction techniques, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Guided by the philosophy that‘ only quality endures’, the company has earned a reputation for delivering thoughtfully designed homes, exceptional value, and longterm partnerships. By combining a portfolio of customizable floorplans with decades of industry expertise and financial strength, McKelvey Homes remains a trusted leader for homeowners, business partners, and the broader homebuilding industry alike.
“ We are a family business,” begins Charlie Brennan, Chief Operating Officer at McKelvey Homes.“ My father purchased the company 26 years ago, and he and my two brothers, my mom and I, are involved in the business. Between us, we handle everything from new home plan designs, to overseeing the sales team, overseeing the construction team, and also managing the trade partner relationships and pricing.
“ One of the things that makes us unique is our longevity and our legacy,” he continues.“ We’ ve been around since 1898 here in St. Louis, Missouri. We are not in any other markets, so we focus primarily and solely on St. Louis County and St. Charles County. This is the area where we’ ve lived our whole lives, and we’ re not interested in chasing volume or higher production. We’ re focused on quality and being the best builder we can be.
